Conversion rate

A conversion rate is defined as the relationship between visitors to a web site and actions considered to be a ‘conversion’, such as a sale or request to receive more information. In other words, it refers to the moment when a user responds to a call to action.

Conversion rates are extremely helpful for online retailers and other electronic storefront owners - through the traffic results they can determine what other marketing methods should be enlisted to increase product sales.

To calculate conversion rate, take the number of unique visitors turned into customers, subscribers and users divided by the number of total unique visitors. In order to encourage conversions, you need to deisgn your landing page or website to motivate interactions. Fundamentally, with better marketing you can expect to see higher conversion rates in return, since higher conversion demonstrates successful marketing.

There are various methods that can be employed to improve your conversion rate. Also known as conversion rate optimization (CRO). Any team can assess what is or isn't working for their site and then figure out how they can solve this.
